Account Director

An opportunity has arisen for an Account Director at C Squared, working predominantly on the Festival of Media brand. It is a global role (requiring some travel) and you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding the sponsorship targets for The Festival of Media Global, The Festival of Media LatAm and The Festival of Media Asia.

This will be achieved by managing our existing client base and regularly meeting with our key clients to foster great relationships and manage their marketing budgets. You will also drive new revenues and investigate all new business ideas. Our aim is to provide creative and total business solutions for your clients at the highest level.

C Squared revenue streams include:

  • Festival of Media Sponsorship
  • Other Events – Awards, Conferences, Question times, Roundtables
  • Print display advertising, run of site, targeted site campaigns and bulletins (MPU’s, Banners, Sky’s)
  • Specials (sponsorships, advertorials and competitions)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, grow and expand revenue opportunities for The Festival of Media Brand. You should be constantly seeking new ways and areas to develop that add to our revenue and profitability as well as develop the portfolio.
  • Use the sales story to your advantage, tailor your pitches to the client and make sure your sell is always professional and sophisticated. This involves understanding/analysing current strengths, weaknesses and areas of development in the market place that we can profit from.

Analysis

  • You will research the market and look for growth areas or trends that we can benefit from.
  • Constantly be thinking short – immediate target needs and long term – relationships.
  • This is a broad ranging global role therefore you will need to focus on being organised and forward planning – particularly when planning international trips.

Face to Face

  • Plan your meetings well and visit your clients in good time to enable them to make business decisions and that allow you to professionally sell the benefits of C Squared and The Festival Brand.
  • Keep a written record of all meetings on our CRM system so that we can assess what is happening in each sector and how we can benefit from changes in the market.

Knowledge

  • You need to keep abreast of all market trends and know your clients business.
  • Brand portfolio knowledge should be impeccable – content, sales, objectives, clients, production, web, sales facts and figures, profitability and the competition.
  • Understand the industry – the key players, trends, gaps/potential, opportunities for growth.

Project Management

  • Manage projects that you are working on from start to finish, bringing them in on time – flagging issues early so they can be quickly resolved.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure they are all fully onside and understand what you need for your client.
  • Achieve maximum profitability by careful planning of resources, reviewing all costs, and managing your yield and time.
  • Produce an accurate monthly forecast for the current month
  • Always plan ahead and keep your line manager updated on all ‘pipeline’ activity.
  • Research every element of a proposed deal to makesure that it is deliverable
  • Liaise with all parties to deliver the project, both internal and external. This may be fulfilment houses, designers, venues, temping agencies, printers etc.

Research

  • Research all new business accurately with quantifiable results, using all sources available and all results should be recorded.
  • Track leads and opportunities tracked within the CRM system.
  • Develop business solutions based on client’s needs and their brief and then prepare a client-centric strategic marketing plan.
  • Your research should be completed quickly and accurately.

Reporting

  • Inform your direct manager of all developments affecting revenue and our market position.
  • Produce a detailed monthly report on new business, forward bookings, and any new ideas you and the team are working on.
  • Report revenue forecasts weekly.

Administration

  • Ensure that all bookings have a signed confirmation before they are booked on the CRM system or have an invoiced raised if they are supplements.
  • Timely and accurate ad monitoring.

Attitude

  • Mature, positive, determined, professional, considered and business like attitude at all times. Putting company objectives first, maximizing revenue but not at the expense of the product or editorial quality of the product.
  • Open and honest communication, being proactive, knowing what really is important and worth fighting for as opposed to the trivial.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to others, showing the C Squared value of ‘stewardship’, fostering the skills, success and careers of others within the team.
