Shortlisted candidates from across Asia Pacific discuss their hopes and concerns for the media industry
In the run-up to Festival of Media Asia Pacific 2014, five young media executives shortlisted for the Festival’s coveted ‘Rising Stars’ Award, joined a Google Hangout with the Southeast Asia CEO of Starcom MediaVest Group, Jeffrey Seah to discuss what matters most to young people working in the media industry today.

Organised by Festival of Media Asia Pacific and hosted by Mumbrella Asia’s editor Robin Hicks, the Hangout explores the experiences of some of the region’s most promising young media talent, addressing what they feel are their biggest challenges, their perspectives on how the media landscape is changing, and how media professionals should adapt to this change. Jeff Seah from Starcom MediaVest Group also shares his many years of experience in the industry, providing insight into what has changed in the last ten years and what might be in store for the industry in the next ten.

The annual Rising Star Award, which is sponsored by Starcom MediaVest Group, is a competition for under 30s working at media agencies, media owners or client-side.
